No two women are the same when it comes to bra sizes which is why we at Foxy Chick have put together a few easy to follow steps to help you choose a bra that fits in every way without having to consult a tape measure first! Most importantly we believe your underwear should first and foremost feel comfortable in order to achieve your correct bra size. All you need to do is get yourself in front of a mirror in your favorite everyday bra! Step 1: Look at your shoulders Are your straps too loose? Make sure your straps are tightened evenly and that they stay on your shoulders when you jig about! Go on, have a little dance! If they move about, give them a little adjustment! Are your straps too tight? If you find that your bra straps leave marks on your shoulders, you could have your straps too tight. Loosen them up a little! If you've loosened your straps and still find your straps dig into your shoulders, then the back band of your bra is too big for you and your straps are bearing all the weight. Wearing a back band that is too big for you is a common mistake. Go to Step 2. Step 2: Look at your back band Does you back band ride up? Stand with your side to the mirror and make sure your band is parallel all the way around. If you find your back band often rides up you are probably wearing a band size that is too big for you. The back band should feel tight and firm on its loosest setting. If you place two fingers underneath the hooks at the back if your bra, there should be just enough space to squeeze them in. If there's room for more it's time to replace your bra! Fact! Your bra can grow up to 4 inches due to wash and wear. Therefore, when buying a new bra it should fit tightly on the loosest setting hooks, so as the bra stretches you can increase the hook settings. Step 3: Look at your cups Are you cups baggy? Your cups should fit smoothly over the breast without any bagginess or creasing of the material. If you find your cups look baggy, try going down a cup size. If you find the material creases around the nipple, again try a smaller cup size. On the other hand, if your breast is spilling out sideways or upwards, you probably want to try a size up! If you are wearing an under wire bra, check the joint between the cups. This should lie flat against the breastbone. If it doesn't fit not only may you not be wearing the right size bra but the style may not be right for you either. Try going up a cup size! Step 4: Correcting your fit So your current bra fits you perfectly. Brilliant! Get shopping! But for the other 90% of you who have found a problem, here's how to fix it! Your back band is too big but your cups fit If you find you are happy with the cup but that you need to move to a smaller back size (which seems to be a common occurrence) you might need to change to a bigger cup. This is due to the fact that the under wire increases in size as the band size increases, for example a D cup on a 34 band is bigger than a D cup on a 32 band. Lets take for example that you have been wearing a 36B cup and you find that you are actually a 34 band , but after checking your cup sizes you were happy with the cups then you will need to try a 34C. So simply by increasing the cup size by every band size you go down you should be able to maintain the same size cup that you had before! Your back band fits but your cups don't This one's easy, try going down a cup size! Your back band is too big and your cups are too baggy Best thing to do is to book yourself to be professionally fitted.
